Gary Chapman
Mr. Gary Chapman has been a Senior Instructor, Consultant and Technical Writer for Atlantic NDT
Training since 1986. He is a certified American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) level III in Liquid Penetrant,
Magnetic Particle, and Visual Inspection. Mr. Chapman is a graduate of Indiana State University with a Bachelor
of Science degree, Cum Laude, in Vocational Trade Industrial-Technical and minored in Aerospace
Technology. As part of his degree program, he completed five Vocational Education courses totaling more
than 200 hours of Instructor/Teacher classroom training. Mr. Chapman provides training and examination services in-plant and in public courses in accordance with
SNT-TC-1A and National Aerospace Standard NAS-410. He is a Boeing Company Level III approved examiner in Liquid Penetrant
and Magnetic Particle Inspection. The public training programs are presented at the Atlantic NDT Training facility in
Branford Connecticut.
From 1982-86 Mr. Chapman was employed by the Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection
and Insurance Company and Senior Instructor in the Technical Training Center. He taught public and contract training
courses in nondestructive testing and was involved in the editing and technical writing of educational texts in Magnetic Particle,
Ultrasonic, and Radiographic Inspection. He authored, in its entirety, Hartford Steam Boiler's Complete Liquid Penetrant Inspection Workbook. Mr.
Chapman was responsible for the development, implementation, upgrading, and coordination of all Liquid Penetrant
and Magnetic Particle programs in the Technical Training Center. During those years he was a company Level II and
Level III, and ASNT Level III, in Liquid Penetrant and Magnetic Particle Inspection.
At Hartford Steam
Boiler, Mr. Chapman completed technical training courses in Visual, Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Radiography, Introduction
to Nondestructive Testing, and the American Society for Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Code. In addition, he has successfully
completed technical training courses at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) in Visual I, II and III; at Magnaflux
Corporation in Liquid Penetrant and Magnetic Particle Inspection; and Ultrasonic Inspection at the Technical Training Center.
Mr. Chapman has six years of industrial experience
with an aerospace castings manufacturing company, in all phases of the investment casting process by working in the Casting,
Prefinishing, Finishing, Nondestructive Testing and Inspection Departments.
Mr. Chapman is a member of the
American Society for Nondestructive Testing and Epsilon Pi Tau, a professional fraternity for Education in Technology.
